This has to be the most requested recipe from adults. I made these for my baby shower and had loads of friends texting me afterwards asking for it, which of course I am happy to share.
Admittedly some of these ingredients aren’t ideal for kids, I guess it just really depends on their age and if they have any allergies etc. But I’ll leave that up to your discretion. As suggested below you can always substitute protein powder with almond meal and the nuts with oats.
I love eating these straight from the freezer, they’re super delicious and full of all the right nutrients to keep those energy levels up.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup pitted dates
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup macadamias
1/2 cup plain protein powder (sub with almond meal if making for kids)
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup coconut
2 tsp tahini
Pinch Himalayan rock salt
METHOD
1. Place all ingredients into a high speed food processor. I usually only blend until the mixture still has chunks in it but if you prefer it without the chunks keep blending until the mixture is smooth
2. Roll into bite size balls and refrigerate
*** I freeze them as they last longer and taste great straight out of the freezer
